Welcome to the Digital Gen Foundation\’s 4th Conference on Virtual and Augmented Reality in Education in Africa. We are excited to bring together experts, educators, and industry professionals to explore the ways in which immersive technologies are revolutionizing education on the continent. From primary school classrooms to higher education institutions, virtual and augmented reality (VR and AR) are changing the way students learn, interact, and engage with information.
1. About the Conference
The conference is a one-day event designed to provide a platform for dialogue and exchange on the role of VR and AR in education in Africa. The conference will feature keynote presentations, panel discussions, and workshops on a variety of topics such as:
- How to use a VR headset
- A live experiment of the virtual world through a VR headset on the conference day
- Success stories and case studies of VR and AR implementation in African classrooms
- Pathways to a successful tech career
- The future of VR and AR in African education
2. Speakers
Our keynote speakers and panelists include leading experts in tech and immersive technology education, including:
- Doctor Benya Adyanju Jamiu – Building a Digital First Mindset: Strategies for Adapting to the Changing Landscape of Work through Tech Skills.
- Gospel Ononwi – Udemy AR / VR developer and Trainer, Founder of Extend African, and the winner of the AR/VR African 2020 hackathon.
- Memunat Manzuma – Founder of Kuagi resources (Hajiya PHP)
- Huswat Lawal – Microsoft Certified Data Scientist
3. Workshops
In addition to the keynote presentations and panel discussions, the conference will also offer hands-on workshops led by industry professionals. These workshops will provide attendees with the opportunity to learn about the latest VR and AR tools and technologies and how to effectively incorporate them into their classrooms or educational institutions.

The conference will be held at the Novelty Polytechnic Main Campus, Kishi, Oyo State, Nigeria
